Piercing shops in Dublin

Okay so recently I decided to get a new piercing. I stupidly went to a terrible place that, I at the time thought was good!! Here is some Piercing shops to go and to avoid in Dublin incase you are thinking about getting a piercing.

Snakebite:
Snakebite is located 54 Middle Abbey St
Dublin,
This shop has a brilliant reputation and has been piercing for years. They are very professional and the piercings are reasonable prices but you are guarnteed to be pierced properly!!
The people working in the shop explain to you very well about the aftercare involved in the piercing you want and also tell you what might go wrong if the piercing is not looked after.
I think this is very important because most people are oblivious to all of this walking into a piercing shop!
The shop cares about you and does not just pierce for money, if they do not agree on a piercing e.g. a microdermal implant or a wrist piercing, they will spend ages explaining to you why you should not go through with it, and they refuse to do it. I give Snakebite 10/10.

Ms Fantasia:
Ms Fantasia is located in South William Street . The piercing part is at the back of an adult sex shop!! There is only one piercer here and somehow he got himself a good reputation, but be warned, I would advise anybody to avoid getting a piercing here. The prices are slightly cheaper than other professional piercing shops, and besides being located at the back of a porn shop the room itself seems fairly professional. I have had first hand experience of piercings becoming infected due to being pierced in this shop, also I have been told by other pierces that my piercings are pierced wrong!! Rumor has is this guy enjoys giving pain and says very inappropriate things to you!! This may all be hearsay but thought I would pass on this information!! Also this guy pierces purely for money.
I would give Ms Fantasia 3/10.

Georges Street Arcade:
In Georges Street Arcade there is a permanent stall that is a piercing shop. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Has a reputation of being the dodgiest place around in the whole of Dublin!! Prices are ridiculously cheap and the reason for this is because rumor has it he reuses equipment such as needles etc that you are NOT supposed to reuse! He uses a piercing gun for piercings other than your ear lobe e.g. your tongue and needles are supposed to be used for this!! First hand information: I know a girl that used to be in my class who got her lip pierced, the piercer did not check for a vain and he used a piercing gun, and hit a vain. She ended up being rushed to hospital and her lip was the size of a golf ball. She was aged 13 he doesn’t always ask for ID and this is I think why he is still in Business. I would give this place 0/10. Avoid going here!!

Wildcat:
Wildcat is located upstairs in Stephens Green. This and Snakebite are the best places around in Dublin!! They are very very professional but are a bit pricey but I guarantee you your piercing will be done properly! Well worth the extra bit of money. Wildcat is also a brilliant place to get a tattoo, but you may have to book an appointment because they are quite busy! Every time I go in there it always seems to be busy which is a good sign! The staff are very friendly as well as in snakebite and both alike they do not pierce solely for money, they will tell you the pros and cons about the piercing you are thinking about getting! Wildcat gets 10/10 J

Connected Ink:
Connected Ink in Temple bar is another piercing shop in Dublin with a good reputation. Everything is done very professionally and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and the shop itself is very nice. They also tell you the pros and cons about the piercings. Upstairs is an excellent tattoo parlor but their prices are a bit pricey.
I would give Connected Ink 8/10 just because for some reason Snakebite and Wildcat seem to be the better piercing shops!

Places to eat in Dublin

Places to eat!!

There are some great places to get some grub in Dublin that is good value for money. This is important for us college students, as money always seems to be scarce!!

Captain Americas:
Captain Americas is located in the heart of Dublin on the lovely Grafton Street. It has seating for over 180 people and has a full bar license. Its great for a casual night out because you can move up to the bar for a few drinks after eating all you can! There is something for everyone on the menu from their mouthwatering burgers to their steaks and their vegetarian menu. The desserts are amazing and they really are great value for money. They also have an early bird menu, which is great to start the night out!!
I would give this restaurant 10/10 purely because they have such a high reputation for a reason!!

TGI Fridays:
TGI Fridays is located in Stephens Green Blancherdstown, Dundrum and Blackrock. I think the menu is quite similar to Captain Americas and they are also great value for money. Their chicken wings are to die for!! They also have a full bar license and have great music, also a great place for food followed by drinks!
I would rate here 10/10 because it has great service, great food and great prices!!

Wagamamas:
Wagamamas is located on South King Street In the City Centre and also in Blancherdstown.
It’s a restaurant very different to others but is very popular. It is mainly a noodle restaurant which serves great food at reasonable prices.
It’s a place to go if you’re looking to eat healthy. There is usually a wait for seating but this is because the place is so popular!!
The seating is benches which is fun and different however it kind of has a fast food your in and out feel too it. You do not really feel like you could sit there for the evening and relax but that’s just my opinion.
Great place to go to if your looking for more the healthy option!

Milano:
Milano is featured in Clarion Quay - The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), Temple bar and also Dawson Street all in Dublin city centre, and is a great restaurant to wind down and relax in. It would be more expensive than the other restaurants that I have mentioned but is great if you feel like treating your self or someone else to.
It is mainly a pizza restaurant and the pizzas their are to die for! Also I have to mention the dough balls on the starters menu, I would go to this restaurant purely for these dough balls they are one of the nicest things my friends and I have eaten!!
I found because I am only 18 I was treated like a child their and was not very happy with the service but that was my own personal experience and the staff are all probably very nice.
I would rate Milanos 6/10 just because its not my kind of place at all and did not receive the service I expected, however I would really recommend here to all Pizza lovers because you will not be disappointed by the quality of food at all.

Jimmy Chungs:
Jimmy Chungs is a bar and Chinese Buffet and I have to include it because I absolutely love it!! It is located along Eden Quay and is 17.90 per person for all you can eat buffet. Its a very big restaurant spread out over town floors so is always able to seat you straight away. For people who like Chinese food, I recommend Jimmy Chungs. Its great value for money and you can keep going up to take food as often as you like. The quality of food is remarkable and the restaurant itself is very nice, also the staff are very polite. I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Chinese food, you will not be disappointed!

The Wright Venue : Went their 2ce since my last blog, its open Wednesdays (student night), Fridays and Saturdays. Its located in The Wright Venue, South Quarter, Airside, Swords.
Unbelievable venue best club in Dublin in my opinion. Would really recommend it to students especially on a Wednesday night. Dj is amazing. Has a few drink promos eg: 3 jaegers for a 10er, but most drinks would be usual price as other clubs/pubs.
10euro in but really an amazing night.
For smokers, smoking area is sheltered, absolutely huge and has a bar in the middle of it, the smoking area is like a little venue of its own!!
The Wright Venue has had appearances from celebrities such as 50 cent, Rihanna, Pixie Lott, Peaches Geldof, Jordan and many many more.
I would give this venue 10/10 it really is a place you must go to!!

21 club and lounge: Is located on 21 d'olier street, Dublin 2. Right in the centre of town.
The club is underground and is big enough inside. It has 2bars and the best night to go is on Mondays it is 1euro in with the concession (get off their website) and 2euro a drink so is a cheap night.
Mondays is also a student night so a great place to meet other students.
The only bad thing I feel about this club is the smoking area. Because the club is underground it gets very hot and stuffy very fast so if you want to go up to the smoking area for a breather the smoking area is absolutely tiny. Everyone is crammed and the smoking area is put together on the night connected by barriers.
Otherwise I really like this venue and love that it’s so cheap.
I would give this club 7/10 just because the smoking area is a joke. Also you never see 21s without a que right down the road so try go around 11pm to avoid that!!

Button Factory The button Factory is a club located in temple bar.
Its 5-10 euro in depending on the night.
Button Factory would play different music to a lot of clubs in Dublin. It would play music like elctrohouse, tech house, techno, indie it really depends on the night you go but if you’re into that type of music Button Factory is the place to be!!
I really like this venue just because the music is so different. The dance floor is huge which is good for people who want to dance the night away!! I would Recommend this club and I would give it 8/10.

The Academy located at 57 Middle Abbey Street
Dublin, DUBLIN 1, Ireland.
I have only been here once but i absloutly loved it. The Academy plays loads of gigs and is a great club. Some artists that have performed their include: Republic of loose, Deadmau5, MGMT, New York Dolls, Rain Machine, Kate Nash, Pete Doherty, The Coronas, Little Boots, Fight like apes, La Roux, Calvin Harris and many many more. Different prices in on different nights, very big inside and is 2 floors. Great venue.
Would give this 9/10

Crawdaddy I have been here loads of times and is a great venue. It’s located at Old Harcourt Station, Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.
It has 3 different rooms with different music playing in each room, so you choose whichever music takes your fancy!
Very spacious inside and is rarely completely overcrowded which is good.
The smoking area is very big and has food outside incase you fancy a big of food!! Age group there is quite mixed, great venue to meet new people. I have not found anything I don’t like about this club so ill give it a 10/10.
