Okay so recently I decided to get a new piercing. I stupidly went to a terrible place that, I at the time thought was good!! Here is some Piercing shops to go and to avoid in Dublin incase you are thinking about getting a piercing.
Snakebite:
Snakebite is located 54 Middle Abbey St
Dublin,
This shop has a brilliant reputation and has been piercing for years. They are very professional and the piercings are reasonable prices but you are guarnteed to be pierced properly!!
The people working in the shop explain to you very well about the aftercare involved in the piercing you want and also tell you what might go wrong if the piercing is not looked after.
I think this is very important because most people are oblivious to all of this walking into a piercing shop!
The shop cares about you and does not just pierce for money, if they do not agree on a piercing e.g. a microdermal implant or a wrist piercing, they will spend ages explaining to you why you should not go through with it, and they refuse to do it. I give Snakebite 10/10.
Ms Fantasia:
Ms Fantasia is located in South William Street . The piercing part is at the back of an adult sex shop!! There is only one piercer here and somehow he got himself a good reputation, but be warned, I would advise anybody to avoid getting a piercing here. The prices are slightly cheaper than other professional piercing shops, and besides being located at the back of a porn shop the room itself seems fairly professional. I have had first hand experience of piercings becoming infected due to being pierced in this shop, also I have been told by other pierces that my piercings are pierced wrong!! Rumor has is this guy enjoys giving pain and says very inappropriate things to you!! This may all be hearsay but thought I would pass on this information!! Also this guy pierces purely for money.
I would give Ms Fantasia 3/10.
Georges Street Arcade:
In Georges Street Arcade there is a permanent stall that is a piercing shop. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Has a reputation of being the dodgiest place around in the whole of Dublin!! Prices are ridiculously cheap and the reason for this is because rumor has it he reuses equipment such as needles etc that you are NOT supposed to reuse! He uses a piercing gun for piercings other than your ear lobe e.g. your tongue and needles are supposed to be used for this!! First hand information: I know a girl that used to be in my class who got her lip pierced, the piercer did not check for a vain and he used a piercing gun, and hit a vain. She ended up being rushed to hospital and her lip was the size of a golf ball. She was aged 13 he doesn’t always ask for ID and this is I think why he is still in Business. I would give this place 0/10. Avoid going here!!
Wildcat:
Wildcat is located upstairs in Stephens Green. This and Snakebite are the best places around in Dublin!! They are very very professional but are a bit pricey but I guarantee you your piercing will be done properly! Well worth the extra bit of money. Wildcat is also a brilliant place to get a tattoo, but you may have to book an appointment because they are quite busy! Every time I go in there it always seems to be busy which is a good sign! The staff are very friendly as well as in snakebite and both alike they do not pierce solely for money, they will tell you the pros and cons about the piercing you are thinking about getting! Wildcat gets 10/10 J
Connected Ink:
Connected Ink in Temple bar is another piercing shop in Dublin with a good reputation. Everything is done very professionally and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and the shop itself is very nice. They also tell you the pros and cons about the piercings. Upstairs is an excellent tattoo parlor but their prices are a bit pricey.
I would give Connected Ink 8/10 just because for some reason Snakebite and Wildcat seem to be the better piercing shops!
